Ye Xian is a Chinese fairytale with similarities to Cinderella. I chose to storyboard a scene where she sneaks away from home to visit a nearby lake, where she encounters a mystical water creature that becomes her protector. I was drawn to this moment for its suspense and mystery. After starting with rough thumbnails, I refined the composition with detailed shading to better capture the scene’s atmosphere.
